Default header clearance issues

I have a 1993 lt1 TA and just put pacesetters lt's on. The oil pressure sender is straight out the side of the block on the 1993's and is pointed directly at the header and has a big rubber boot on it. I had to cut the boot to even get the plug in. I now have about a 1/2" from the plug to the header. is that enough room or will it melt the connector?

I would think it should be ok...at the very least you could always put some header wrap on that area to ensure it doesn't. That's what I did on a couple trouble areas on my Mac headers when I was running them. I've got a couple extra pieces of wrap I could send you if so..you would just have to get me back on the .42 stamp fee

I used a set of Accel plug heat sleeves over each of my plug boots. I'm not worried at all about burning wires.

Well i had the engine out when they went on so i did the wires really good. I drilled out all the factory clips for the msd 8.5's and ran then really tight and far away from the headers. I was really proud of it lol. I shoulda took pics.

As for as the header wrap goes, cant that stuff catch fire after it gets old? I could be waaay off, i just thought i rememberd hearing that somewhere. It's gunna be going on a 1400 mile trip soon, to ND for a week and then back to CO, so i really want it to be good. I love roadtrips in sweet cars!

Catch fire...never heard of it happening myself. It's fresh wrap and I wouldn't see it catching fire anytime soon if it did. I have only heard of it building moisture behind it and causing potential rust. Never had that issue in the year and a half it was on my Macs. Not saying I promote the stuff...just an idea

Theres no way im taking those wires off now, they are so far from the headers i think ill be fine. I ran them factory style so it would be a huge bitch now that the motor is in.

oh i forgot to ask. Where can i get some o2 sensor extenders? Ion said not to use the splice kit pacesetter gives you with the headers because the sensor is only set for its own length of wire resistance and that extending the wire would throw off the reading.
