Default Polishing Intake!

So I got to wondering what else I could do to the car while I'm waiting on the weather to warm up, and the other parts i'm waiting on to show up. I was going to paint the valve covers, but I thought it would look really cool if I polished the intake. So I grabbed some sand paper I already had, and some polish. After about two hours this is what I have already. What do you guys think.

If you want a real mirror polish, you need to remove the "orange peel" using a coarser grit sandpaper (on a Dremel or equivalent), working your way down to wet-sanding, then polishing up with some white rouge. I ended up having mine powdercoated instead - polishing was just too labor-intensive. It's a little dirty/dusty, but you get the point. Looks GREAT under the light when cleaned up.

Def. a lot of work but seems to be coming along nicely. I think it will look great if you get it really nicely polished. I would throw some high temp clear to save all the work you are putting into it.

Man.....this is a lot of work. Wish I would have never wanted a polished intake. Only have about half of one side done, and it's taken me two days. Ohh well, can't stop now!
