Default Oil pan gasket

how hard is it to change oil pan gasket with block in the car?

Do a search, tons of threads on here about this. To answer your question it can be done, but it's not easy and can take some time.

also when i bought the car the guy said it was built .30 over but the top of pistons said .20 does this mean the cylinders where just cleaned up for new pistons? and if so what is the new displacement?

Just by those numbers it is impossible to tell without knowing if the stock crank has been reused, or if a stroker crank was installed. See if he can provide you with any additional information.

Are you sure it doesn't say .020? That would be 20 thousandths over. That would require a bore and a hone. With 4.020" pistons, your new displacement would be:

(bore/2)^2(pi)(stroke)(# of cylinders)
=(4.020/2)^2(pi)(3.48)(8)
=353.355 (rounded to three decimal places using pi=3.14159)

Manual or Auto?
And yes it makes a BIG difference. Manual is a complete PITA.

got it done ended up getting a hoist and pulled the pan made my life easier

yeah its does say .020 the rods have a F stamped into the bottom does this mean its forged

Do they look like aftermarket rods? I'd take some picks of your bottom end.
