I had a blanket on. i had a hard time getting it to cover the whole bellhousing. It covers the tranny not where the flywheel is. Plus i never felt good about having a blanket like that to protect my legs and ankles it just didnt seem like enough! Idk just my o2!

it does look really good. hows it fit? have heard of mcleod having fitment issues on other cars. also dont understand why it is so much more than say the ls style. i know they had to retool but its also replacing a part number they already were producing.

I have no experience with either, but there really isn't a masculine way to say scatter blanket.

if you have been through this FIRST HAND then i sincerely apologize, otherwise keep your infinite wisdom to yourself.
that is the BEST money you can spend on your car! bang gears with a piece of mind, and to boot I have tested the bellhousing.....it works great! the repair to my vehicle probably cost more than yours is worth, no disrespect meant, but my point is that it is money well spent. at the time NO ONE MADE A BELLHOUSING for an lt1, hence the custom blanket made for my piece of mind.

Guess everyone in the NHRA thinks the same as you but there are reasons they are recc'd and they have saved many people many times. Sorry about your bad experience but the ton's of times out way your ONE!!! BTW - sorry to dissappoint I'm not a donkey but I think you are being a jack ***!!!! The last time I checked I have the right to voice my opinion as a scatter blanket has saved my butt once when the clutch when KABOOM in my old 78' T/A w/4 speed.

i guess you missed that part, lol! if you can't take then c ya!
i just hate to see someone go through what i did, all for a couple of hundred bucks. and my point is if it can happen ONCE it can, will and i am positive has happened again, where it doesn't contain the matter as well as a shield does. technically the blanket did work! without it i would be legless right now. but bottom line is a can will always keep shrapnel contained.

If the scatter blankets don't work the majority of the time, as you're making it seem, why does the NHRA still certify them? I'd think if they had more accidents that had injuries, they would rethink the certification on that. Wouldn't they?
