okay. I was just doing some of my own research and thought that would be a HUGE waste of money. I was thinking about the cc306. Does anyone know anything about this? What kind of power with or without heads? And what kind of wear and tear? My car has less than 62K miles. Also I WILL NOT bore the motor at all.

CC306 makes power at really high rpm if your willing to rev the hell out of it then go for it.
Your probly better of doing some more research on other options. Have you done the basic bolt-ons already? I would make sure you have all that taken care of before jumping into cam swap.
You can make much more power for cheaper than doing LT4 conversion.

if you are using stock heads the cc306 will stop making power around 6200~rpm which is considered somewhat safe for a stock RA. it's not a bad cam and gets the job done but not exactly the most efficient or effective way of doing it
if you are buying new a custom cam is the way to go curtosy of LE (elliotportworks.com) or AI (advancedinduction.com). I only have personal experience with Lloyd Elliot (LE) so I recommend him, great guy and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you're satisfied as a customer.

In a perfect world the LT4 package makes 425FLYWHEEL hp.
www.advancedinduction.com can deliver more than that at the wheels with a mechanical wp and untouched intake.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...s-429rwhp.html
For a similar price no less.
In other words the LT4 package would be a really poor choice.
The 306 will peak too high if you combined it with decent heads, the cam in the link above is smaller duration than the 306.
If you are going to go off the shelf cheap cast Comp stuff go with the 503.
You want to make serious power for about the same price as the LT4 kit go with Advanced Induction.

no one really stated the lt4 heads and intake are bad. theyre just stating that you can get better flow numbers by porting the stockers for a fraction of the cost

NO i don't have basic bolt-ons YET. So u guys are saying that the 306 is a decent cam. But what kind of power does it make. I heard that the LT4 conversion is good for 375rwhp. I don't think that is true. Unless you do some more work to the heads. I would really like to do a heads and cam swap. Unless it isn't absolutely necessary. I am looking for atleast 350 rwhp N/A. If i can make that safely with a cam ONLY and stock heads. I don't mind replacing valves, springs, push rods..etc... I will only do a cam. Aslong it doesn't seriously destroy my motor. I also want to spray it with a dry 75 shot.

The 306 with ported heads will peak too high. Only reason people put up charts where it peaks lower is stock or bad heads.
The LT4 heads and cam kit is good for more like 325rwhp.

Even Ed Wright comes out and says he would not use LT4 heads on a 350 with the factory pcm limitations.

As many have stated already here, the key you seem to be missing is to have a package of parts that work well together not just stating "what about CC306 cam". I would suggest that you plan this from the start decide what type of power you expect that you will like your engine to produce, not just XX HP but you want a drag setup, you want a DD with decent low end TQ etc, only you can answer those ??
you seem to have a semi stock car you are starting with and state your goal is 350HP, that would seem attainable just with good bolt on parts a PCM tune... Like most of us reading this, if you do that and perform the work yourself it won't seem that bad and after a while you will be craving more HP and thinking "Hey I did all that myself, I'll slap a cam in there" be very careful crossing the line between bolt on parts and big engine changes it can totally ruin a DD. Otherwise the links provided already have way more info that I can provide, I myself used LE and am very happy, email him and see what he would recommend you buy and why.

ok. I was looking at advancedinduction. and i really like their options. Yes it is a stock car except for cat removal and new custom dual exhaust with a magna-flow muffler. I want a DD altho i won't be driving it daily. I am going to call/e-mail Ai for more info. Thanks again for all the input. When I get my car done me and my Bro's 02 SS will have to

With the AI topend I have taken a few sprayed LS cars. Remember not only is mine NA but it is a friggin Caprice, not a little f-body. F-bodies are heavy compared to a Mudstain, but the Caprice is heavier yet. Last trip across the scales with the street tires on and some stuff in the trunk with me was 4320.
