Exclamation speed density

Kind of new at this,I'am transplanting a LT4 from a 1996 corvette into a old hot rod .there isn't enough room for a MAF sensor so I'am running the engine I guess in speed density. It is not street ready yet, But I'am confuzed. If I have herd right just by not plugging in the maf sensor the ecm will run in speed density. can anyone explain in simple language if this is right and will i need to have it tuned.????? thank's

Yes, without the MAF functioning, it will default to speed density. Though, it is real easy for a tuner to force it to speed density all the time, tune it and you not have to worry about it.

You'll also want to get it tuned for SD anyways as the default SD tables in a MAF car aren't all that performance oriented.
