Default Eagle Main Caps or Girdle?

Im in the process of puting together a bottom end on a budget, just like everyone else.lol Its a 355 and I am planning on running a 200-250 shot to it. My question is would a Main Stud Girdle be ok or would I need to get Splayed Main Caps and have the block machined? Also what kind of pistons and rings would you guys suggest? Any help would be greatly apperciated.

I'm not sure if the stud girdle will clear the stock pan (if you are still running it) and the splayed main caps would be nice extra insureance, but then you have to have the block drilled and line honed.

What rpm will you be turning and what is your estimated total hp output on spray?

Around 6200 RPM. The car makes 488 rwhp on a 150 shot. So a 250 shot should be around 560.

Hmm...I would probabally spring for the splayed mains since you will be putting out over 600 hp at the flywheel, that way you have the mains honed too at the same time.

I assume this is a factory 2 bolt block?
