alt. and crank pulley v.s alt. and underdrive pulley
is there any significant gains with running a alternator and a underdrive pulley over the stock crank pulley....has anyone ever dynoed this and found legitimate gains with use of a underdrive pulley...several peeps want to run just the alternator but will you benefit from an underdrive pulley as well????

I'm only running the crank pulley. I haven't notice any gains but have notice it's harder to steer when at low rpms. Since my battery is in the trunk I haven't tried the alt pulley.

when you put a smaller crank pully you have to change the alt pully as well. As hitmanws6 stated it will affect your voltage. When you put a smaller crank pully on it turns your alt pully more rotations increasing your voltage. This is why you install the larger alt pully to compensate for the crank pully because it takes longer for the larger puilly to turn keeping your voltage within range. I used to build and install full blown audio systems and we used to install smaller pullys to increase to voltage output.
As far as an increase it is only a few hp but every little bit helps
