Default Changing motor mount inserts

Just placed my order today for all my poly mounts and was wondering if anyone had any pointers or tips for doing the two inserts for the motor mounts. I'm sure its going to help I have no power steering, AC, AIR or any of that in the car.

I can't wait to feel the difference with the new mounts on after driving the car a couple days with 153K miles on the factories motor mounts and ripped transmission mount.

they are not easy, but take your time. definitely worth it. Make sure you have a sharp drill bit for the proper size. A grinding wheel also helps. I had to raise the engine up on the passenger side and remove the bracket to the engine to get the passenger side out. PITA but you will enjoy the difference. My inserts were not broken, but I compared them to the poly units, and they were 2/3 the size.

Have fun...

Seriously tho, it's a pain. Get the starter out of the way and that should give you some more clearance on the passenger side.

As the others said, its a PITA. Pick up a poly trans mount while you are at it. I'm about to have poly EVERYTHING. Now I need an aluminum ds!

What type of headers/manifolds do you have? That might be the only hang up. It really isn't that bad if you have your headers/A/C/P/S off. You will just have to take off the starter. All you need is a good drill bit to drill out the center of the rivets. The passenger side is harder than the driver side because of how the clamshells mount the the frame on that side. There are a few How To's on this site, just search if you haven't already. Good luck.

Take your time and do one at a time... Pay close att. to how the old ones come out of the shell and replace it the same way.Follow the instructions closely... Check your passengers side mount to be sure the motor mount bolt will fit throught it. If not drill out the extra poly to make it fit. The passengers mount is made to fit a 2nd Gen and the hole is a little small.
Good Luck..You'll love the differance they make.
