Default shift points

Solomon@(LT1 tuning),he done a super job on mine ,I just sent (pcm) back to him to firm up (raise line pressure)I just had my trans gone through and a transgo installed, and told him to leave the shifting stock because I was afraid the shifting would be to harsh, but my 2-3 shifts were not completing till 6300 rpm ,and I was wanting my shift points around 6000 rpm.He done a super job on the tune, the car flat screams.

So your tuner doesn't have any recommendations for your shift points?

Oh, well I have a CC503, but I'm a M6 guy. I shift at around 6300-6500.

Your going to want 6200-6400rpm shifts with that cam to get the most out of it. Anything below there will be sacrificing a little mph in the quarter. If you don't want to rev it past 6000 or 6100 then the cc503 is a little too much cam for you, I lost 4 mph when I was shifting it too low back when I ran it. I wouldn't worry about shifting it in the 6300ish range so thats what I would shoot for. BTW the stock tach is ~300rpm's off up top so if the tach is reading 6300rpm then your shift points are only at ~6000rpm.

my stock headed cc503 was still making power at 6400rpm so somewhere around there I imagine

mine was shifting closer to 6100-6200 though because it was a 130k+ mile motor

Default tach deal

Yea on the tach deal,my rev was set at 6400 in the tune and shifts at 6000-6100 and 2-3 would bump the rev,but the tach was showing 6200 when it bumped of the rev limit,so I know the tachs are of at least 200rpm,but the pcm really knows whats going on.

I agree with Stealth.....I have cc305 A smaller cam and it dynoed at 6000..503 is going to need a little more rpm.

Default shifts

I am just trying to keep my shift points at around 6000 for now, because I am still on my stock injectors,I just wanted to know the best shift points for track times when I re-tune for 30#lb injectors in a month or two, thanks for all the input.

When my shift points were way off I was revving out to 6900rpm (via the tach so more like 6600rpm) with the stock injectors. I ran the stock injectors the entire time I had that cam and they were sufficient. Of course some SVO 30's or the like would never hurt.

I made 328/335 with the cc503, 1.6RR's, LT's, Open Cutout thru the Automatic and it trapped 110mph.
