Default Can't decide what mufflers to run with my TD's

Can someone please help me. Lol. I just can't decide what kind of mufflers to run. I have a 3 inch TD setup I'll be putting together soon. I've been looking into the XR-1's but they're like $150 a piece. Are they for sure worth that? I like the Dynomax bullets ok but that's not really the sound I'm going for. I'm looking for something that's going to sound like it's got no mufflers...but quieter. It's kind of hard to explain. Like race car sound but not as loud. I had another question too, what do shops typically charge if I took the car and TD setup to them and said I wanted it on and completely welded? JW. I can weld but my skills are not that of a pro

I had mine custom bent, and then just band clamped on the mufflers. I had cheap Summit bullets and they sounded great, a bit louder than dynomax bullets too. I then put some chambered GMMG style ones on and it sounds pretty freakin mean. I left work the other day, and just happened to look to my left and saw a line of supervisors giving me a thumbs up.

I had Flowtech Afterburners'..Nice and deep at idle, and streetable also. Plus, they're only a 4x9 case, i think. Cheap too.

Are you planning on going to the bumper or dumping at the axle?
Size and sounds are going to be the key factors IMHO and specific to their location.

I like the Hooker Aerochambers for flow and sound, but they're big.
You have to BFH or lose a lot of ground clearance.

It's going to be dumped before the axle. Decisions, decisions. Tough to decide. It's hard becuase I know what most typical systems sound like but I have zero experience with TD's so I don't know what sounds like what. I've heard videos but I don't want to make a purchase based on some video I saw on the internet. You can't tell what it really sounds like unless you see and hear it in person.

I have an X-Pipe with Bullets and I love them. Sometimes I think about switching to Powersticks in hope that it will sound like my old car with GMMG until someone drives my car for me. Sounds pretty old school and alot like Nascar at the same time. Can't really go wrong with any muffler with TD's.

To have mine fabbed up was pretty expensive, I believe it was $560ish plus mufflers and the Summit kit but well worth it.

Edelbrock SDT 304s...They are only 3 5/8" thick in their 3" versions and sound awesome...They flow enough for guys to run 8's with too...They sound wicked at WOT and very nice at idle and cruise...I think I paid $120/each in stainless last year for mine...At 39 years yound I didnt want too loud, but I always get thumbs up for the sound...

See this is what I'm talking about. Haha all I've heard is how good they all sound. I think I'm going to be able to fab my own setup so now I just have to choose what mufflers I want to run. Keep the suggestions coming guys I've already heard some options I didn't think of before.

So I listened to a few decent videos with people who have TD's and sweet thunder mufflers and they sound pretty mean. They aren't too expensive either. Does anyone sell them other than Sweet Thunder? They have them for $63 per muffler. That's 3 inch in and out with a 2.75 inch inside diameter which will be plenty of flow.

I think mine are the power sticks, 3". They sound like a GMMG with more attitude.
