Default Mcleod Bellhousing and Spec Stage 5 are in!

Picked up my new Mcleod bellhousing yesterday, I bought it at Super Chevy for a good discount It went on ok, my only complaint was the knockout plate for the starter. Whatever die they used didn't punch it out, I ended up using a grinder and cutoff wheel because I had to completely cut out the section. Other than that it was a straighforward bolt on, probably made easier with the motor being out of the car. Here's some pics.

like 47x including tax. i got it on special for buying at the booth at Super Chevy though. Billy's a hella nice guy, they had one on display at the booth and I was sold. I got through 15 months in Iraq and kept my legs, I would hate for something to happen from driving my own car.

Looks nice. Post up how it performs and your comments on it. Grab, chatter, pedal feel, etc.

yea i've never heard of anyone running the stage 5, the spec guy seemed confident in it holding 700 rear-wheel no problem. I don't expect it to be stop n go streetable, but we'll see. Still waiting on my heads I've run out of stuff to do, built a standalone for the nitrous, put dash back together with cobalt tach, installed bellhousing and clutch, put new cam in, put opti and balancer back on, etc. I've been buying stuff just to hold me over haha, like drilled/slotted rotors that i don't need, even made rear wheel/tire covers from leather to protect em from the sun.

just wanted to follow up on this one. First drive with the stage 5 wasn't that great. car isn't tuned yet, idles at like 1500, cam surge like crazy. Well the rumor about the stage 5 squealing... is true This thing squeaks and squeals when you're clutching out, just going level and uphill though. Definitely grabby as ****, my old powergrip hd drove like a stocker compared to this thing. This combined with the poor tune in the car, it was very difficult to take off from a stop without jerking, stalling, chirping the tires, etc. I'll post back up when the car is tuned later this week for a more accurate review on this clutch.
