Default Max timing

Just to get a good idea where have you guys with stock heads and a mild cam been making the best power. My timing is set at 38 max and im thinking its a little much and I may be losing power. I know every car is different though.

You need to be aware that the pcm puts more timing in than programmed. Adds it based on rpm something like a degree for every 1500rpms over 4500. Might be off on the details a little but you get the idea and now know to look for it.

You also just need to tune to what the car likes, due to tolerance stacking the actual timing may or may not be what the computer is commanding so just experiment a little and see what it likes.
