Default coolant temp sensor

i bought a temp gauge for my car and i cant get the plug out on the passenger side head so i was going to put it on the driver side. but i need to know if the factory coolant temp sensor on the driver side head goes to the ecm or if it is the one on the water pump that goes to the ecm. cause i just want to get rid of the one that goes to the factory gauge so i could hook mine new one up. does anyone know which one goes to the ecm?

The one in the head goes to the gauge only.

Any chance of that one affecting the cpu any? Does the car get any data from that for turning on fans, adjusting timing, etc. in combination with the other gauge or is it strictly for the gauge only?

As stated, gauge only.
