Default Instead of selling my car, im gonna change it, opinions needed

I am loosing interest quickly in the car since it ran the 10.58. I have it on Racingjunk for sale....just fishing really. I have little or no interest in running it at the dragstrip anymore...it did what I wanted it to do.

I have been thinking about it hard here lately....here is the plan:

Take the 4L60E out, put a six speed back in.

Take the Convo Pro bigs and littles off and put a set of Billet Specialties Street Lite wheels..... 17x9.5 front with a 275/40/17. Rear, 17x11 with 5 inches of backspacing with a set of 335/35/17 Hoosier drag radials.

Corvette C5 front brake kit.

Strano Springs/Swaybars.

Koni DA's on the front(already got em on the rear).

Put the A/C back on.

Thoughts??

I think your plan is a good idea. Car would be a blast to drive around with the 6-speed, and Strano/Koni Setup. You right now have pretty much what I want my car to be at eventually, 10 sec. car that can be driven on the street, but at the same time I want the C5 brakes, Koni's with Strano Bars etc. etc. tough decisions if you ask me.

I think going with an M6 with the 17" wheel/tire combo will be a nightmare to hook at the track, but fun to drive..If it were me I'd just put the a/c back in and enjoy the car...I never took off my a/c and that is very cool...Sorry for the bad choice of words...Its always cool to change the look though...It'd be neat with the different wheel/tire combo and a/c...

I'm going for a Koni/lowered/C6-braked/6-speed convertible that runs mid 10s on DR's. It can be done.

I think the 6-speed swap and a new set of wheels/rubber will do wonders for your love of the car.

I like the idea of just an AC and some new wheels and tires so you can drive it more. Selling it would be a horrible idea, you will never get a fraction of what you put into it.

Nitrous? Getting a lowered 6 speed vert to hook well and run 10s on DRs will be extremely difficult NA.

Ohhh no...... I am gonna keep the Convo Pro's with the skinnies but put some 28x10.5 w slicks on em. For the occasional track outing.

Car is already lowered and hooks well.

510(ish) rwhp stick car should be a total blast.

It has RHS 235 heads.

Not really that radical, I drive it 60 miles one way to a cruise in pretty regular, drive it to work on nice days, 50 mile round trip.

At a cruise in Mississippi once a year I put 450+ miles on it in a 3.5 day period.

Put a 6 spd and a 3.90 or 4.11 in it and it would be a blast to drive around and with your power you could run low 11's i bet. Put some Mickey Thompson Drag Radials on the rear they are the best for the street and theres guy running in the 8's with em. Dont sale it you will get srewed in todays economy and not get anything near what you put into it

do not sell the car!

i agree with the guys about losing the investments you've put into it.

but at the same time i understand the want/need for change.

I daily wonder if i should stay LT1 or swap an LS1 in. or if i should sell the car outright and buy a C5 or CTS-V i go back and forth all day.

I feel you on that, although my car doesnt run 10's haha!

I wouldn't sell it, my car is pretty much what you are describing with a little less HP and it's blast to drive on the street.
