what would you do if you had about 1600 to spend?

im going on a road trip from st paul MN to Phoenix AZ. I was thinking about spending this on replacing my distributor cap and rotor, electric water pump, tune and a cc503 cam.

car has 110000 miles, headers, intake, nitto tires and i replaced the fuel pump, spark plug wires, ignition coil, spark plugs, fpr and fuel filter over the winter.

well if u are putting that cam in i hope you are also doing new springs pushrods rockers...the whole works in the valvetrain. how are your shocks? just me put if i was about to go on a road trip i wouldnt be throwing a cam in and doing too much...i would wait till after the road trip. nothing like getting stranded 1000 miles from home

He cant do an le setup for 1600. I would hold off on the cam and save for an le setup. Or maby do some suspension stuff. Thats what i would do.

What gears in the rear-end? Stock stall and 2.73's would defintely be less than ideal even for a moderate cam such as that.

I was thinking the le set up was around 1200 plus rockers, guide plates, pushrods and injectors. So I guess your looking at around $1800, plus a tune. I was $350 off but it would be worth it if you have all the other bolt ons in place.
