Any oil filter in reality is just fine for normal use. Even FRAM. Not sure who makes the valvoline unit, but it's more than likely good to go.

"Any oil filter in reality is just fine for normal use. Even FRAM."

That's very bad advice.

DO NOT USE FRAM OR FRAM MADE OIL FILTERS.

This has been covered many many times on every board.

Here's a good look into many brands of filters:

Wix, Hastings, Mobil One, K&N, Amsoil, Royal Purple and Cummins are all decent quality made filters. Choose any of these by price and availability to you.

Sorry paul, but I disagree. For Normal use they are just fine. However for what you can pay you can get better filters. I've yet to read about a Fram oil filter under normal use blowing apart or causing engine damage. Again Normal use they are just fine.

You'll notice some of those filter information in that page is 8yrs old.

I used Fram filters on my 91 ranger for 3-5K OCIs and the same on other cars. They were just fine.

Elky there are only so many ways to make an oil filter. Kind of like a Battery. You buy a Johnson Controls Battery, no matter what name is slapped on it , you're getting a good battery. There are minor differences between a K&N or M1 filter. Wow the K&N has a nut on it.
