Default What to do?

Hey guys,

I own a 94 z28 with 138,XXX Miles on it and I want to start modding the car. I atleast want to make 400Rwhp and trq. Any advice on how i can achieve my goal. This will be a daily driver until I am able to buy another Beater. I live in California so Smog laws are strict. So I need to keep it Smog legal. Thanks in advance!

just throw on a nitrous kit and you wont have to deal with smog and can easily get over 400 hp/tq and have lots of fun

I thought about that, but I wanted to keep it N/A. My current mods include TB Bypass, K&N CAI.

400rwhp in CA is going to be tough. I'd recommend an emissions-legal cam like a LE1 and a small shot of juice to achieve those goals.

Emissions builds are

I live in CA. LT headers are not legal, and they will look for them.

I have heard that the CC503 will pass smog. They won't know anything about the heads if you get your stockers ported. The kicker is going to be the exhaust, it will be difficult to get 400+ rwhp with stock or shorty manifolds.

If you want to hit 400+ rwhp in CA you usually have to:

A) Spray
B) Go FI
C) Stay NA and pay ~200 every two years to "pass" smog.

I would rather pay for someone to "pass" me.

I think these are supposed to be able to pass smog. I remember reading that, if someone can back that up. Not sure what your budget is, they are kinda pricey

The have to come with a CARB # or else they won't pass. Didn't see one in that link.
