Default Smog Pump

My electric smog pump is Noisy and broken.
If I disconnect it will it send my motor into closed loop? Will it set off a SES?
I know When I take my fuse out it sets off the SES.
Car is a 95 LT1 obd1

Leave the fuse in and just disconnect the pump.

Just remove it and cap off the tubes on the headers and remove the vacuum solenoid hoses and cap off the port on the intake. All you will do is set a code which can be deleted through a tune. I think you can even wire in a resistor to avoid a code. Plus its weight reduction.

When I had my headers put on, they disconnected my smog pump. It was a good 2-3 months before I got my tune, and I never had an SES light come on for it.
