Default Sticky Throttle?

i have a problem with my throttle being sticky. When I go to press down on the gas, I don't get a smooth and uniform motion.. Instead, I have to use a little bit more force to overcome the initial "stick" -- from then on, its pretty normal. it seems to not be as bad when the car is off, put when i turn the car on, it does this. what do you guys think? would alittle WD-40 fix it?

I would to see if the blades are gunked up or anything. Clean them up nice with some TB cleaner. See if that helps.

i checked out the throttle body blades and they didnt look too bad.

while i had it apart, i sprayed some seafoam deep creep in there. its soaking right now. in a few minutes i'll go start it up and see if it fixed it.

Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle body and feel for resistance in the cable. This way you can rule out the throttle body if need be.

just got done deep creeping the throttle body, and its alittle better. not as smooth as i'd like it to be though. i took a rag and wiped out the outside edges of the inside of the throttle body also. lots of black grime came off.

Remove the black plastic cover, then pop the cable(s) off of the exposed metal bracket. Pretty easy.

took the throttle cable off, wasnt too much resistance when pulling on it. also tried pushing the pedal down real slow while it was off, and there was little to no resistance there. so dont think the throttle cable is bad or anything.

check your stop screw. If it is backed out to much the blades will dig into the bore and you will get that initial stick you are referring to. My bbk throttle body did this and it took me a while to figure out why. So i would take the throttle stop set screw and open your blades a bit until it goes away. It would be real nice if you had a data logger to make sure your tps% is at zero after all the adjustments and iac counts are in proper range.
