What mods next for me?
I have a stock 95 Z/28 A4 with just a Magnaflow catback, 1LE elbow and Lingenfelter CAI. It hooks real good with 275-40/R17 BFG g-force sports and KYB adjustables on all 4 corners mostly due to the 2.73 gears. Last time I went to the track i ran 13.82 @ 100mph and it was very humid, 90+ degree weather. I'm going to do TB bypass and maybe try a manual fan switch this week. What do you think I should do next for good gains? I was thinking headers and ORY with emissions delete or 3.42 gears next but don't know which would be a better idea since money is tight! I'd need a tune either way

I love my magnaflow! sounds great even through the stock manifolds and cat. maybe I will go with headers, ORY and emissions delete first so I can hear it roar, I'll need a tune though after that so my dash doesn't light up like a christmas tree right?

Headers, 1.6RR's and springs, or a nice stall will all be nice bang for your buck. I wouldn't jump to ditching the 2.73's unless you plan on putting DR's on the car in the near future, it might actually hurt you 60' times.

3.73's over 2.73's will def give your car some *****. I recently did this swap for under $200 with a good used set of gears and installing them myself. Best mod so far besides the cam.

I meant that the emissions delete would give me an ses light I know the cat wont make a difference. By emissions delete I mean race headers and !EGR !AIR. I don't want a stall converter jjust yet!

The key factor to not getting the light is the obd I. OBD II monitors more of the functions that the computer controls, like, a.i.r and egr and cat efficiency. On the OBD I the same systems are in place, but the computer doesn't monitor them as well. I believe that the egr is monitored, but the A.I.R and cats are not. That just means you can remove them without throwing a code, and therefor pass an emissions test. I still say go for the gears, and don't forget to get you speedo corrected otherwise you'll probably get annoyed with the speedo being off. I always did.

long tubes with emissions delete and tune would be fairly inexpensive with a great improvement in power.. not to mention less clutter in the engine bay .. and if you do gears down the road.. id go with a little bigger than the 3.42's but thats just my .02.. i love my 4.10's!
