So you want to run your trans rated at 700hp...right at or above 700hp with the n2o Sounds like you are rolling the dice.

Why not get your existing trans built to take more power?

You need to buy the baddest trans you can buy, save your money. Whichever vendor you buy from, buy the baddest one they got.

BTW There is NO way to "rate" a trans at what HP it can hold.

A stock trans with a shift kit can live with 700 hp in front of it....on a 245/50 NON drag radial.....spin all over the place, no load being put on the trans.

Take a 400hp 3600lb car, run some some low 1.50, high 1.40 sixty foots with the same trans and see how long it lasts. BOOM!!!!!!!!!!

IMO it also depends on the weight of the vehicle and the rpm it sees as well.

I would just put in a 4L80E and be done with it. Mine only weighed around 35 pounds more than my 4L60E.

I would say to go with Frank's Level 3 if you are running nitrous just to be safe!

Performabuilt is a good tranny. I have the level 2 in my car, but am making nowhere near that much power.. Keep in mind, my stock tranny broke at 102k with all the mods listed in my sig MINUS the yank ss3600 and pulley... (not very much power)

I'd be on the safer side and do Frank's level 3 just to be safe. I realize it is about an extra $1000 but its probably worth it than breaking it and then having to buy another $1600 level 2 ya know?

Frank is a good guy and I'm happy with the custom shift kit, 30k btu cooler, and level 2 he gave me for my car, but if you aren't looking at him, there is always more expensive places like Finish Line Transmissions which alot of people seem to like
