Street light king?

Street light king?
Ok here’s the bet, I currently own an E55 with Renntech 580HP but it is a fat *** at 4200lbs. I have purchased my first "go fast car" back after a 14 hiatus. The car has 120K miles with a blown head gasket. As a bet to fellow office mates/friends I said I could get this Camaro to run faster than the Benz. Now the Benz runs a 0-60 in 4 flat and the 1/4 in the high 11's. I would like to see if I can do it on all motor (original if possible) although I will also add spray for the extra effect. Since the motor needs a head gasket I figured I would send the heads out to AI or LE, add a baby cam (maybe a 211/219 LPE), Pacesetter LT, 1.6rr, CAI and a 3000-4000 stall. The car is an A4 with 3.23 gears. I figured that changing the gears might decrease the 0-60 times do to wheel spin. What about suspension or tires? Is it feasible to make my old baby run with the big boys while still sounding relatively stock? I had a 2004 ZO6 that was just as fast as the Benz with very little mods (900 lbs lighter though).

I would go with a little bit bigger cam. If you can get some Drag Radials you can go with 3.73's or so. These cars if done right are pretty easy to get into the 11's. Have fun with it!

a bigger cam than that is not necessary if you plan to to spray. a good ported and polished set of heads with an upgraded valve train and that cam are good for low 12s and maybe very high 11s on motor. i wouldnt say 11s for sure unless you had some weight reduction. these cars aren't that light. mine has a tubular k member along with all the other suspension mods and with me in it and around a 3/4 tank it weighs 3795 and im on the thin side.
talk to whoever is doing your top end package. they may be able to piece something together for you that will meet your goal. 96capricemgr has a heavy *** carpice that runs 11s with a relatively small cam so it can be done.
