PCM Swap Question
Has anyone ever heard of/done an OBDII swap into an OBDI car. I would like to have the OBDII for obvious tuning reasons...how complicated would it be, other than swapping in a 95+ PCM and OBDII port.
Please let me know if you have info on this or if you know of a thread out there dealing with this.
ps...this is my first LS1tech post....been a long time user of firehawk.org...finally created an ls1tech account....thanks guys

maybe i'm just ignorant on the topic...but i thought you couldnt "tune" OBDI's with a plug in tuner.....you could only buy new pre-tuned chips for them....am I wrong?

You are thinking of 93 and earlier and these days there are real time alterntives even for them.
Sounds like you might be considering something like Hypertech, if so be warned they cost MORE than proper tuning software, do vastly less and have been proven to often SLOW a car down at the dragstrip.
Tunercat for 94-5 cars is $90 rather complete tuning software, last I looked there had to be 200 things you could change by the time you counted tables, switches and constants that could be modified.
Datamaster is a very nice datalogging program about $95-120 depending who you buy from.
another $50 or so for a ALDL cable and you have all you need with the exception of the knowledge to use it.
