Default Stupid exhaust tip question

Installing true duals (to the rear bumper) on the Camaro, and I have some questions about tips. I want to run a tip similar to the GMMG oval tips that go for $150.00. The problem is everything I am finding that is cheaper looks like it is 2.25" inlet and my pipes at the bumper will be 2.5".

After looking closely at the GMMG oval tips from some photos, they are 2.5" inlet necking down to 2.25" upon entering the tip.https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts...oval-tips.html

Currently I dont have any 2.25" piping in my exhaust system.
Is it desirable to use a 2.5" inlet tip on 2.5" pipes or can I neck down to 2.25" pipes and not cause a restriction or a performance hit?

You might want to try this, I have the GMMG exhaust but could not see paying the 150 for tips so I used reproduction LS6 Chevelle tips. They are 2.50 inlet dia. and I think look better than the 150 pair.
