Default Thepartsladi opti guys

Anyone have problems with there's? Always though these were the good ebay opti's. I'm on my second one and getting ready to send this one back for #3. First one lasted about 500miles and this one almost 1000. Same issue with both, develops a nice miss from around 6300 through 6500 until it shifts. The current one has seen 7000 more times than i can count from issues getting the tranny to shift....maybe it didnt like that. lol I know some of you guys are turning those rpm's and more so maybe i just have bad luck. Thinking about trying something different just not sure what yet...

You sure you got an original Delco unit from her? She does have fake ones so that would be the first thing I would check out. Needs to have the yellow cap.

I thought thepartsladi only sold authentic Delco/Delphi optis. I know I've never personally seen a knockoff listed in their store.

No man, they definitely have the cheap chinese knockoffs for sale. When I was on the hunt for one I had to avoid thepartsladi b/c at the time all they had were the knockoffs (sold out of the AC Delco units I guess.)

That's the first I've ever heard of them selling anything other than authentic OEM.

I hope it is OEM. I just bought and installed one a few days ago. It was exactly the same as the one that came off. Had the yellow cap, cylinder numbers on the plug wire connects, the "1" and "6" for TDC....

I am even sure it came in a GM box. The car is at a buddies garage. I'll check it out tomorrow.

my partsladi Opti came in a "Delphi" labled box but has a "black" cap not the color of the "original delco Opti.

it is a spare so can't say if it is better/worse

Purchased one when they first came out..Never looked back. Great product for High RPM applications. My Procharged LT1 would spool up so fast people accused me of having a hidden nitrous system. the fast spool up caused the rotors to come out the side of the cap. Installed the Dynaspark. No issues..

Delphis should be the same as an AC/Delco OEM. Perhaps they changed the color of the cap. They do look black in the pictures, and I've always wondered. I didn't see any knockoffs listed in their store when I checked yesterday.

I have personally bought 4 opti's from "thepartsladi" on Ebay. One for my car and three for friends of mine. ALL were genuine OEM parts. The one I bought for myself was an AC Delco, the other three were Delphi's. I personally opened up each one to thread lock the rotor screw (EVERYONE should be doing that on any new opti). Never had a problem with any of the opti's from them. They have the best prices for genuine opti's that I have seen around. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again when my current opti goes bad, but I don't lose sleep at night because I know I'm good for another 100k miles easy...

Their prices seem to be going up, but there no longer appears to be a dramatic difference in price between vented and unvented.

You're correct that they probably charge too much, but a lot of people would disagree with the rest of your statement.

Agreed, I haven't seen anything that shows that their failure rate is anything better than the stock units. But one of the most common failures is the rotor coming loose or detaching all together. 5 mins, an E4 socket, and a couple of dabs of thread locker on the rotor screws goes a long way...

Bill:

The Opti I bought from thepartsladi does have a black ( very dark grey ) cap vs the AC Delco orangish cap color. It did come in a Delphi labled box so I hope it is not a "knockoff".

FWIW having been down the MSD opti road...it did not last. high rpm breakup issues...and it was not a lose rotor. sent it back for warrenty replacement and sold it
