stock 3.23 should i go 295 45 17 or 275 40 17

Default stock 3.23 should i go 295 45 17 or 275 40 17

what would you guys recommend with that gear since 295 45 is a 27" tall tire OR 275 40 which is 26" tall

why would the sidewall height matter out of curiosity?

It's what contributes to the overall height of the tire. My 30" tire with my 3.73 gears pretty much puts me back where I would start off at stock tire size and gear.

I dont no the question that Aug is asking but i do know that a 28"tall and a 4.10 is like having a 3.73. Now since hes asking what is better a 26 - 28 tire with his 3.23 ?????? I dont know lol sorry

To answer your question, stick with the 26" tire. That will keep your final drive 3.23. If you go up to the 27" it will drop your final drive to around 3.08. Also the 26" tire will not throw off your speedo since thats stock tire height.

I agree with the above post, The sidewal is not the issue as much as the rotational footprint. The larger the tire the more it will offset the gears. A 27" tire will increase your top end but decrease the lower speed acceleration (all things being equal). Use this

FYI, the difference between the tires hieghts is 1.79", not 1"...
