A dial indicator is the only special tool needed, basic tools will take care of the rest.

That link is for a 2 series carrier bro. If your car came with 3.23's you need the 3 series.

Must haves:
Hydraulic press for removing and installing bearings.
Dial indicator as mentioned by /\
Brass punch or other tool for installing pinion bearing rings in the housing
Jack handle and breaker bar for getting extra leverage to crush the crush sleeve
Pinion nut socket (1.125") IIRC.
Gear marking compound

Optional:
Air tools and especially a 1/2 impact
Pinion depth setting tool

Honestly, I would let a shop do it. Setting pinion depth, pattern, valve lash, and the overall install procedure can be quite a daunting task without any prior experience.

Last I checked around out here it was like $250 for an install....IMO alot cheaper to do that then have a car torn apart and a big headache of getting it back together. A competent shop should get it done in a day. Make sure to find someone good though, otherwise you run the risk of a noisy rear, and that's not fun.

Add to that, years of experience setting up gears (unless you just gotta do it yourself and are ok with experimenting and maybe ruining some gears). Even the people that do it for a living don't get it right the first time.
