Default my set up! what you think?

ok I have a lt1 stroked out to a 383. 202 160 64cc heads with a .52 lift cam. I have a ported stock intake to 52mm. heads are also ported and polished. 5 cc inverted dome pistons. I have a mass airflow and hooker headers. I have taken the tcs off also. (doesnt really matter) I have yet to have all the stuff put on. I also have venom injectors.I am having this all done at once. I have had mixed reviews over this. I have been told it will run great and then i have been told that i wont get over 400 hp out of my setup and that it will run like **** since i cant flow the gas correctly for the bigger valves.I also have plans to run a good size spray through it. maybe 250.So mayb some of you experts out there can tell me what you think. pls and thank you

A .520" lift cam doesn't really tell us anything...

Did you select your cam and heads to be compatable?

Have you calculated your DCR?

sorry. the duration 270/276 lobe center 110 305-350 cam that will go with the stock converter and oem rollers. I did not purchase them to go together. WE have just figured that the bigger heads and cam would flow good together. idk i am not to mechanically inclined. i know a little bit little bit more than red neck mechanic. lol

yeah when i started building this i have guessed that i would have around 400 to 460 but i have had mixed reviews even though i wus pretty sure in what i chose. one thing though i changed the heads. they are lt4 style patriot heads that we are gonna have to bore out a bit more to get to 64 cc and they will be polished also. worse or better heads. wat u think?

I think if you don't get some compression up, both static and dynamic, it will run like ****

Stock compression is 10.4:1

64cc is a big chamber on that head, of course it all depends on what pistons you used, the size of the valves, hg thickness, if the block was decked, etc, etc, etc.

I'd shoot for 11.5:1 minimum for a street motor, and the LT1 can go higher without a problem.

Shoot for low 9's dynamic as well. The lt1 can do that on 93 octane pump gas as well..

This is all of course for an N/A or sprayedmotor. If you plan on boost in the future and it is in fact 9.9:1, you could get away with a decent amount of boost, depending on your cam, although it's not optimal for high boost levels either, kind of in between.

my .02

yeah i just talked with my mechanic and i knew i had a reason for the low compression. it is in fact being built for spray. with a ten to four to one ration shootin spray would like blow any and all head gaskets out and possible blow a wall. but wat aout my heads? wat do you think i could shoot for qrtr mile wise? let me know if u have built one similar. i have a 373 limited slip : ( rear end. also how easy is it gonna be to break my rear end tranny and drive shaft when i get this back?

I have never seen a low compression n2o motor...spray loves compression.
People spray a 150 shot on stock LT1's (10.4:1) all the time without issue. Just run a reasonable shot and have all of the failsafes installed and have a quality fuel system and you'll be fine. If you plan to run on a large shot, be sure to pull timing. Iron blocks (when built right) can take a good amount of abuse.
My friend has a 13:1 n2o 402 LQ9 stroker motor, set up for a 300 shot.
