Moroso problem with pick up tube wtf...

Default Moroso problem with pick up tube wtf...

OK so i am installing the moroso 20185 oil pan and have a melling 55 oil pump and the pan dont fit...so i ordered the moroso pick up tube that it suggests for the car which is 24212 and guess what it dont fit either now wtf
the pump is stock size of 3/4" and this pump is 5/8"
i called moroso they said they dont make a 3/4" pick up tube. so now what do i do, what have you guys done???????????
i need the right pick up tube now and this is whats holding up my project

It is important you use the p/u tube designed for the pan, so if it means going to 5/8 then do it.

how can i do that if i have a melling 55 pump with a 3/4" hole but the pick up tube is 5/8
and the 5/8 is designed for that pump

I guess you have to pick what you want to use, the pan or the pump.

well i guess if you read his posts he has to use the pan cuz hes building a stroker motor and stock pan wont clear as well....as for that pump several people on here run that pump but idk bout that style oil pan

i had this same problem and went around in circles with summit and moroso. i asked the tech from moroso if there would be a significant difference in flow from dropping to a 5/8 and he said it should be ok. i was like what the hell does it should mean when we are talking about a critical system. ended up getting summit to take back the pan and pick up and bought a canton. much better in my opinion.

weld it on and be done with it, simple solution. Thats how we do them, never an issue.

Plenty of folks out there with stock pans on strokers.

Yep, just some heat and a hammer got me plenty of clearance on my stock pan. And it's not a cosmetic thing either, because you cant see it with it installed.
