Default 4l60e with 383 cid?

can a stock 4L60E from a 97 trans am hold the power of a stroked lt1 383? what about the rear end?

depends on the condition of the stock transmission and the quality of the 383.

There are people who understand nothing and manage to build 383s that make less power than a well thought out bolton 350. There are others who have naturally aspirated 383s that make twice what the stock engine did, and everything in between.

Generally newbies are WAY too eager to jump on the displacement bandwagon and if they follow through on those plans too early they endup with bad results.

Far as the axle, it lives a whole lot better behind a automatic tranny than(edited) a manual.

I think he ment than a manual. Behind the manuals theres a lot of clutch side steps that are hard on rear ends.

Yes, the manual delivers a lot more shock and does a lot more damage to the axle.
