Wooshie

My emergency brake works fine, but when you pull the handle up it falls right back down. Its not locking in place. I pulled the center console to see what the hell was going on in there and nothing looks broken or missing. Any detailed advice/ pics would be most helpful as this is pissing me off.

Look at the toothed gear. There is a finger that engages it and a spring that connects to the button on the handle. It's a pretty simple mechanism.
