Yes, another cam sound video
I figured I'd post up a video of my car with the GM 846 since I couldn't find any in my search of cams. I went with this cam cause it came with motor. All I did was new rings and bearings(including cam bearings) plus ARP rod and main bolts. The heads had been ported locally when I got motor. I got rid of the roller tips rockers and stock pushrods and replaced with 1.6 Pro Mags and Trickflow chromoly pushrods. I got the motor for $800 and have a little less than $1500 for a refreshened shortblock, ported H/I, and cam. I didn't really think it would lope as much as it does.
Now I just hope I can get into 11s N/A. I'll be satisfied if it'll runs real low 12s, then I'll just spray it into the 11s.
It's still on stock tune and the audio quality could be better, but it's not too bad for a Crackberry.

Thanks guys. I'm still running the tune from my stock bolt-on with stall tune from Madz. I was really surprised it's that choppy. Drives pretty good, I haven't gone over 50% yet since I haven't logged it to see if it's leaning out since I'm on 26lb injectors that came with motor. In my mind they are not big enough so I'm just playing it safe till I know better.

Would 36# be over kill? I don't know crap about tuning but I figured whoever I get to tune it could turn down the duty cycle( if I got that right) or would that give me less than optimal spray pattern. As you can tell I need to research this tuning crap better.
I just figured I'd go bigger now so I won't need bigger later after I blow this motor and stroke the next one.
Right now I'm having tranny issues which I can't understand since tranny was fine before swap. What's happening is it isn't downshifting all the time. Sometimes when I come to a complete stop and try to get going again the tranny will be in 3rd. Only way to get 1st again is to shift the shifter between OD and R till I feel the forward pull. Does all that make sense? Any ideas?

For factory ported heads an that cam, 36#'s might be a bit much...I think Racetronix makes a 32# Injector. That should be plenty for what you have, with additional spray.
Almost sounds like a linkage problem with the trans. Have you checked the fluid level? When was the last time the fluid/filter was changed? With the stall that you have, a shift kit wouldn't hurt as well.

Linkage looks good. I forgot to mention that a shiftkit is the very 1st mod I did back in 01 when I got the car. Fluid and filter were changed bout 2 yrs ago but I only put about 10 grand a yr on her. I've had tranny cooler ever since the stall which was about 2.5 yrs ago if that. Fluid is nice and clean and no traces of that burnt smell. I've thought of doing new filter and fluid just incase. I will double check linkage tomm and check lines to make sure there's not any kinks anywhere before I spend any money of filter and fluid.
Someone also said that maybe the TPS is throwing tranny off. I don't see how but could that possibly do it as well?

Summits version of the bullits. All of the bullit type mufflers are basically glasspacks except for the Moroso Spiral Flows, so I went the cheapest route as I always do.

Ok, checked linkage like people have said to do, checked connectors, and went ahead and changed filter/fluid. Fluid looked fine as did the filter.
It drove great today, drove around for an hour or so then off to work. Then when I went to leave work and it did it again. Same as before I had to shift between reverse and drive till I felt the forward pull. Could the pump be going out? Other than checking for codes, I'm at a loss.
I've had numerous people tell me it's the linkage but I don't see how when there is two bolts that hold linkage to tranny and the gear selector just pops on or off so how can that be adjusted or off if it only goes on one way? Am I missing something here?
Tranny was fine before I did motor swap. I'll try and see if I can get any codes but if there no codes, what could it be?
