LT1 gettin too damn HOT! Help!
I have a 93 M6 LT1 Formula and its been getting way to hot and i dont know whats wrong?
First thing i did was flush my radiator to see if it was plugged. Nope
Second thing, while installing a new Opti at the local GM shop i told them to check why my fans dont kick on, and they told me they come on at the right temp but my gauge is goin bad, so i believed them and just trusted that my gauge was bad and just gave up till finally coolant started bubbling one hot day.
Third I got an SLP fan switch so i could turn my fans on manually, to finally fix this damn problem but of course my gauge still hits red and the motor smells hot even after running both fans all day long while the car runs! so now i dont know what to do!
Please help any suggestions?

First how did you clean the radiator? I use the Prestone stuff that says to leave it in and drive for a couple of hours not the 10 minute crap. I will drive it for a few days then flush it out. I had a supercharger and with the drag, AC on at a red light it would get hot very fast. I found a electric fan at the junk yard off of a Honda or something, like maybe a 10 inch and wedged it in front of the radiator. Wired it in to the stock fans and no more overheating...

did you make sure to bleed out the system completely?? reverse cooled Lt1s are sometimes quite a b* to get completely bled.
For MoreHp-I would think a better solution for you would be an electric WP as the "drag" and low rpm would not effect the flow, i would actually think an electric fan placed in front of the radiator and with the factory electric fan on the rear side, this would be more ineffiecent than the factory setup. Make sure your fans are functioning at both speeds and have all the factory shrouds and housing
For everyone- if your car is running hot TURN CAR OFF IMMEDIATELY, especially if you smell burning

Thanks for ur suggestions guys,
I'm considering the thermostat because the car started overheating the day i bought it and flushing the radiator didnt do anything and buying that toggle switch and running the fans constantly didnt help so I dont know what else the problem would be and i hardly believe that the temp gauge would go bad i've never seen one read the wrong temp before.
