Default Something just broke in the steering

I was parking the car and going over a speed bump slowly that I never have problems with and when the car came down I heard a very loud bang. It seemed to park just fine though. When I came out the steering needed to be slightly off center to be straight with a lot more slop when turning left than right. The wheel was much easier to turn but needed a ton more input to make one. A quick look under the car didn't yield anything obvious and the light was gone so I will have to wait until tomorrow to get the wheels off and have a look around.

Our cars and speed bumpd DO NOT get along lmao. ESPECIALLY with LT's, lowering kit, or duals lmao!

I dont see how that would effect your steering though...usually I hit my LT's, or my K-member...nothing else. I didnt think anything steering related even hung low enough TO hit a speed bump!

How hard did you hit it??? do you have LT's?

If you have LT's...maybe..JUST MAYBE...they bent and started hitting your steering column??? Not a very logical idea tho and doesn't explain why it would get easier to steer...that would make it harder IMO. I dunno

I have never hit that speed bump before and I don't think it hit this time either, it's fairly small. That's what was so surprising.

maybe a tie rod or something was bad, and that bump jarred it enough to make it give...
