Nope, no break-in needed. Not on HR setups.

If changing the oil will make you feel better though, then by all means.

You should still change the oil after a few hundred mile, the cam will conform to the cam bearings and could produce some metal flakes. Not 100% manditory, but good practice.

if you used a good amount of assembly lube I would still change the oil after about 500. People say there is no break in period for hydraulic roller cams but if you used all new components (lifters, pushrods, etc.) even if you prime the pump it takes some time for oil to get up top. I had to hold mine a 2000 rpm for a few minutes before it started oiling properly.

I would do a change change after the first drive. I am sure you tried to be clean but something could have still gotten in there. You can use whatever is cheapest in API SM oil and you will be fine.

A whole engine build is different than a cam swap, with an engine build you have rings and cylinder walls conforming to eachother and such.

No it won't. There is always supposed to be a wedge of oil between the journal and bearing. No contact is ever to be made between the two. If that were the case then the only conforming that would be happening is hand picking out chunks of conformed bearing material out of the bottom of the pan.
As stated a good reason to do an oil change after a cam install is to clean out whatever possible debris remain in the pan after the swap.

Cam is a LOT harder than bearings, if anyting "conforms" it would be the bearings but as covered if you have that going on BAD things are happening.
