Default LT1 Run-Down

I own a LT1 car, but has a 1992 LT1 from a C4. I understand theres a power difference, but not too sure what the difference is mechanically?

Not much...

Factory Power Ratings
92-96 LT1 Corvette: 300bhp, 330lb-ft
93-95 LT1 F-Body: 275bhp, 325lb-ft
96-97 LT1 F-Body: 285bhp, 325lb-ft

Factory LTX Camshaft Specifications**:
1992 Y-body: 205/207 0.451/0.450 lift 117 LSA
1993-1995 Y-body, F-body: 202/207 0.450/0.460 lift 116 LSA
1996 Y-body, 1996-1997 F-body: 200/207 0.447/0.459 lift 117 LSA

Front accessories are different as well.
But basically, it's the same thing...

If you have F-body intake and exhaust on it, you will be withing a few hp of what it was rated in an F-body. Only performance difference being the cam and thats not much of a difference at all.

I'm not sure, but the motor was rebuilt and pulled from a 1992 C4 and put in this car before I bought it. I'm assuming from top to bottom, its C4 LT1

The car has a MadZ PCM tune, EGR Delete, port matched gaskets and the cat was removed, AKA someone cut that bitch out and put a straight pipe into a "blowmaster" with huge tips that were made for a Z71.. I'm looking at putting a Dynomax Race Bullet 2.5" in/out where the cat was and dumping it. I hate those tips. Just an inexpensive quick fix.

In that sense, if my car is running right, then I should have a hair more power than my stock equivalent?

The car pulls harder (no doubt) than my buddies stock 1996 Z28, but I really didnt know the difference btw the two LT1's, so now I do.

No, he doesnt, however, my dash is lit up pretty well. SEL is on, and I'm assuming its 02 sensors. His car is clean, and STOCK. I have a hard time believing that the PCM tune has much to do with things on this car. It doesnt run the way it needs to. Like I said time will tell with LT's and new oxygen sensors. Does shift harder to note, so I know the PCM tune is doing somehting, but how much? Meh.

Dunno, but we'll find out soon enough.. Just need someone to read that damned OBD 1.5

the corvette has 300hp vs 285hp campare to f car i guess where the extra power comes from is from the dual exhaust or the dierct induction does it come from there

That is the main difference. Once your buddy gets a tune, I'd imagine that you guys would be door to door with you have the edge due to the slight cam difference.

This is how you read your codes for your '95 using a OBD1 scanner:

I agree with what some of the others posted:

Power difference is the better cold air intake and exhaust on the C4.

Only bonus of the C4 LTX is the 4 bolt mains.
