^^^ yup. that really needs to be in a sticky or something. to many people buying crappy products like these. and to answer any more questions.....
most products by edelbrock for our cars are very sub-par
intakes loose power
heads only add 25 hp (and they advertise this)
cams are pretty worthless
torque arms are weak as hell
havent heard anything about the few other products the make tho.
and the LT4 conversion is a waste of money. you can make WAY more power for the same amount of money.

Their heads/cam/intake package delivers less at the flywheel than a good ported stock heads, untouched stock intake, cam package puts to the WHEELS. So the package is NOT the answer.
By the time the LT1 came around OEMs were leaving a LOT less room for simple improvement. In the 90s Edelbrock and Lingenfelter tried to improve the LT1 intake, both admitted failing to come up with something that fit and made a meaningful difference.
Edelbrock only "tried" again when the LT4 intake was discontinued. There was such a panic over that they were able to release and sell anything reguardless of actual result.
We have seen ONE engine make good power with an Edelbrock intake, was not tested with a stock intake so the data there is meaningless.
The few cases of actual comparison to stock intakes we have seen have NOT been good slight gains to slight loses. One Magazine even reported LOSING power with it.
Even if it produces slight gains then why not spend half as much and port the stocker.

I would not bother with a ported intake untill you are doing ported heads and a cam. Then I would have the heads guy do them.
This setup makes 429rwhp through an unported stock intake. The heads and cam were from the guys I would recommend for such work.

The LT1 does not respond as well to intake upgrades as the gen 1 and gen3+ motors do.
Still I would love to see a ported intake on the above linked car.
