Default Odometer stuck

My Odometer has recently stopped registering. It is stuck on 136XXX miles. Also the odometer trip has stopped registering as well. The car is a 1997 Trans Am. I have searched this problem and have found no resolution. Can anybody help.

That's odd, the odometer is digital. I know the old dial ones used to slip and stop working, don't know what would cause the digital one to stop working though.

Early 1997 F-Bodies got the mechanical one, they didn't change it until 3 months in. I had to call GM about this when I bought my car to make sure that mileage was accurate and he wasn't swapping clusters and trying to pull my leg.

The digital ones have problems too, Mine resets the trip every time I start up the car cold and sometimes going over a bump it will go blank and reset, It is a little annoying at most but not enough for me to want to tear into the cluster to find the short. It has been like this since I bought the car 6 years ago!

You could try swapping or checking/cleaning the terminals. I know it plugs in like a cartridge when your putting it in. It is really hard to put your finger on it, without tearing into it.

Thumbs up Issue Resolved

Issue is now resolved. I pulled the cluster out of the car and proceeded to open it up. Found the odometer module's ribbon wire unplugged from the clusters circuit board. To those with super low mileage cars for sale Im on to you!.
