Default Mass Air Flow ends

Are MAF ends for our LT1's the same as the LS1? Want to get some billet ones out of an LS1 and it looks identical. Any help is appreciated.

They share the same part #, so i believe they are identical.

Yeah, they're the same. From what I've read, LT1 and LS1 mafs are completely interchangable.

If you change tyhe ends expect to have to recalibrate the pcm for the new MAF flow.

So just by changing the ends and not the sensor I will need to recalibrate the PCM?

yes. because the MAF ends will mean you are descreening it, which you should never do. My advice to you would be to spray paint the ends of your stocker or get them powdercoated if you are going for looks.

The MAF is just a really a few resistors that are exposed to airflow and heated to a certain resistance by a current frequency. What that frequency is is what the pcm uses to determine airflow. The cooling of the resistors is a function of air speed and temp. Change the size of the opening the resistors are in and you change the airspeed for a given volume. 100cfm of air is going to move a lot faster through a 2" hole and a 4" hole.

So you change the ends and you destroy the calibration. It CAN be recalibrated in the pcm just takes some work.

On most setups there is NO gain to be had in screwing with the MAF and if you do find a gain the fueling was probably programmed wrong.
