Default Starting to backfire at 4000rpm???

Ok so i did the throttle body bypass the other day on my 96 T/A. and i started to drive it, and tryed to get into it but when it gets to 3.9-5 rpm it spits really bad. it happened right after the bypass and the intake silencer delete? Iv been driving it 4 days like it now and dont want to **** anything up can anyone give me an idea why this is happening?

What did you use to block off the silencer? Does the car idle high?
I would suspect a vacuum leak.

It's because you don't have a 4th K&N sticker on your radiator shroud...

Nah, jk, is the car idling high? If it happened immidiately after you did the TB bypass and silencer delete, I would try to put the silencer back on and see if it helps any.

Check for codes. I'm betting 10 to 1 its your Opti. I had a smiliar problem where it ran like a dream til about 4K then it would misfire and run like a bag of crap.
