Default Opti FTL

well i was out runnin around today and it started rainin....before i knew it the car (94 z28 100k stock) started to backfire and wouldnt rev past 1200 rpm but will idle fine. I am pretty sure that this is a opti problem but i could be wrong what does everyone else think ????

Park it in the garage, let it dry out. You might be fine.
Also moisture can bring out flaws in bad wires.

can i use your garage ??? lol just messin around. its not supposed to rain for a couple days. I was wonderin if you might know what is all involved in doing a sealed to vented conversion if it is bad. I have heard that the vented opti's last longer or do you recommend a certain brand msd...gm...accel ????

Do a search on vented opti conversion. You'll find what you're looking for.

When my opti went, it wouldn't start the day after a good rain. When it dried out, it was fine.

Put a Hairdryer on it to help.

well let it sit for 4 days in the sun .... starts up idles fine...once you touch the gas pedel it falls on it face and starts to pop and crack thru the exhaust... once again no check engine light or anything

How old is the cap and rotor?

If you decide to change it use the MSD cap and rotor kit which adds a vent to the "unvented" opti.
