Is this re-useable???
Ok, so most of you have seen my posts about my failed cam swap and broken pushrods/bent valves...
I just put 4 quarts of brand new oil into the car before I attempted to start it (5th was going in once oil cycled a slight bit). Again, it NEVER started up.
Same thing goes for the coolant...
When I drain this stuff to redo my cam swap and replace the valves, as long as I am careful for debris.....can I put it back in after and save some bucks instead of buying ALL NEW oil and coolant????
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I wanna make sure and get opinions...

i would reuse the coolant as long as its clean. but oil is only a few bucks i wouldnt spare something like that ecspecially if its first fire up after something that is soaked in oil. IMHO its not worth taking the chance of wiping the cam out or the bearings cause one lil tiny piece of debris gets in something it shouldnt lol

LOL!! True but Ive taken it out of my cars b4 and used it in my DDs if I had to drain newer oil for some reason and the DD needed a change. Never had a prob.
I would NOT do it at all if the car was running and **** broke.
I actually just dumped 5qts of RP with less than 100 miles on it, because my rocker arm broke...well I actually tore the entire motor down. To make sure everything was out and in good shape, but thats just me. I even strained the oil looking for parts and still tossed it.

Used coolant is very unlikely to kill your engine if it has a bit of crap in it. If you want a bit more safety from your used coolant, filter it through cheese cloth as you pour it in.
Contaminated oil is VERY likely to kill your engine, and things that are too small to see with your eyes can do it. Oil is too cheap to risk it.

I have a few in my garage on here, but it looks different now...powdercoated intake man, powdercoated valve covers, powdercoated TB, smoked corners and side markers and taillights, new exhaust tips, and fuel rail covers
