Default 95 A4 T/A Track times

I am new to the F-body world so I thought I would share this and gather opinions. I picked up a 95 Trans Am recently with 164,000 on the clock. Basically stock with a Borla Catback, Air Foil, Low Temp thermostat and K&N Cold air intake. 4L60 has a TCI shift kit in it . Other than that its stock. I took it to the track for the first time Wednesday and it ran a best of 13.81 @ 101.8. Its slowest pass was a 13.99 @ 100.2. Every 60 foot was in the 2.0 range on Goodyear GSC's. It was hitting the rev limiter in between shifts on every pass also. I will have Speartech address that this week if he has time. What do you guys think? Is this pretty average for an LT1 car? I was pretty impressed considering its basically stock. I did do the TB bypass and MAF screen removal before I went up there also. I think a converter , gears and some suspension will be next. Id like to see a 12.99 with a stock engine if possible!!

Your times are fairly average depending on your DA. <12.99 with stock engine isn't only possible, its easy. Like you said, stall/gears/suspension will help a ton. So will a tune and longtubes .

Welcome to F-bodies - it doesnt start getting hard to go quicker NA until 11s .

definately ran that car in decent air. times are expected to be in that area, you are looking good a time slip would be easier to work with however a 2.0 60' with those tires show you were on a decent track.....
time to mod that baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

Running good for higher mileage!
Now just get some ---
Pacesetter Coated Longtube headers
Pacesetter Off-road Y-pipe (get rid of your cat)
Nitto 555r drag radials out back
Motive, GM, or Richmond 3.73 gears
YANK or Vig 3200 or 3600 stall converter
MSD superconductor wires
NGK TR-55 plugs
Get a dyno tune or PCM4LESS tune and you are easily high 12's bro.

My car on shorties,a clogged cat, M/T ET Street Radials, Yank SS3600, 3.73's, air foil, pulley, and catback ran a 12.8 my FIRST TIME out to the track. Your car should EASILY do the same with some longtubes

Not bad at all, but get that shifting issue fixed.

Those times seem right on par for the mods you have. 12.90's are just a stall, tires, and a couple more bolt-ons away!

Pretty good times, especially mph for an auto. What gear/gears was it not shifting right on?

I was actually running in 1550-1675 DA the day I ran, so the air wasnt great. The track was definately good. It dead hooked every pass. Im not going to mod this car alot because I plan to get a LS1 car soon, But I got this car pretty cheap so I have some room to play and wont lose any money on it. I actually just got this one to see if I would like it. I have always had Mustangs ( and still do) but I wanted something different.

As for the shifting issue, I had a fresh 4l60 put in it today and the shift points and rev limiter will be addressed tomorrow along with some other tweaking. I hope it picks up a couple tenths. 3.73s and suspension are next!
