Default Carbureted 350 in '94 Camaro

Hey, I am new to this, but do you have to cut the wiper cowl to put a carbureted 350 in a '94 camaro in place of a v6? If so, what else would have to be done? I know tranny and mounts etc, just curious about the entire process. Thanks

Teh engine and trans should sit inside the engine bay on the k-member and trans under the body fine. Depending on what type of intake manifold, carb, and filter you are using, you will probably need a cowl hood. You may or may not have to trim the wiper cowl. You might need a different trans cross member to bolt in the trans. Also something will have to be done with the fuel system as the stock 43.5psi is way too much for a carb. These are just things off the top of my head. You might try posting in the coversion section for more answers.

Yes and No!!! Depends on how you run it!!! You could run a crank trigger ignition setup and not have to worry about anything, or you have to cut a section out of the underside to put in a msd low style cap dist. in the back. I cut out just enough to get the dist. out without loosing the water trough!! it still gets water in if you spray back there though!! But as for any tranny mounts etc... everything from a lt1 will work.....v6 wont but 6-speed aod etc.. from lt1 will!! Hope it helps!! It was a breeze for me!!

With a SBC block, the options for heads, intakes, etc are wide open...

I know man, apart from the LSx engines, no other block has as much aftermarket support.

Yes you have to cut the wiper cowl to fit the carb no matter how small the intake is. As for the hood if you run a smaller intake such as a performer rpm you can fit under the hood. If your running a victor jr or equivalent then you will need a cowl hood or high rise ss hood. Unless you put a big block under the hood it wont matter what intake is on there it wont clear the stock hood with a carb.

A LT1/LS1 swap requires no cutting at all.

I believe my buddy didn't have to cut anything but its a real bitch to turn the distributer, he did buy my old hood, the harwood i had but the breather did fit under the stock hood by a 1/2 inch

You can buy a drop out LS1/T56 sitting on the k-member with wire harness and ECU.

Then all you have to do is simply drop out the V6/LT1 & trans w/ k-member and lift the new set back in. May require some repinning of the wire harness to hook up to the roller, no biggie. And now I know you have to swap the fuel pumps for the v6 cars, still, no biggie.
