Default ls1 driveshaft question???

ok so i went to put my ls1 driveshaft in my 97 lt1. when i went to bolt it in the ujoints would not go into the yoke.

i have the stock ls1 ujoint on my ls1 shaft, i put the end caps off the lt1 onto my ls1 shaft and it did not work.

so what ujoint do i need to get so i can bolt it in there?????

part number would be great too.

Never heard of anyone havaving that issue. It's a direct replacement. Mine bolted right up as it should. Do you have pics to illustrate your issue?

The u-joint on the LS1 ds and LT1 ds is identical AFAIK. Even if they aren't, they fit the same and can be used in a LS1 or LT1 car alike, as it should because the rear ends are the same.

If it is all stock to stock parts, it should be a direct swap and no fitment issues.

Actually, there are 2 different ones..I know this cause I had them both side by side.

The Steel LT1 shaft I had was a 1310 Series U-joint on the D/S side, 1330 on the Yoke side for the Rear, the front Yoke was a 1310 D/S, 1330 Yoke to the Tranny. It looks like a little conversion U-joint.

The LS1 Shaft I currently have was 1330's all around, I replaced the back one for a 1330/1350 Yoke for my Moser. The 1LE Spicer Shaft I have is the same way.

Hopefully this explains it for you.

There was only one pinion yoke used on all rear ends from 93-02, so that's a little perplexing. You'd think whatever ds he has, it would fit the in the pinion yoke.
