tips on installing WP d/s seal?
any tips on installing the water pump drive shaft seal? I pressed the 1st one into the timing chain cover and then installed the cover..and screwed up the first seal I had. a new one arrived today and the timing cover is on but I'm afraid of messing it up again, it sure is a tight fit. any tips? should I install the seal on the drive shaft 1st or the timing cover or does it not matter?

which side of the seal should I push the drive shaft through? the front with the yellow band or the rear with the gray rubber? the d/s is slightly bigger than the seal...I really don't see how I am going to do this with out ruining the seal again, should of just left the old one I guess but now I have to, I'll put oil on it again but it didn't help much last time. anyone have any tips please? it takes 3 days to get another seal if I screw this up again..

got this tip off google if anyone is ever wondering the same thing>
"You'll need to cut a 1"x 2" piece of plastic from a 2 liter soda bottle. Wrap that around the water pump drive shaft before you try to install the seal. Once you wrap the plastic around the shaft, make it a little narrower on the open end put a drop or two of oil on the plastic, now gently slide the seal over the plastic/drive shaft. Seat the seal as you would with an appropriate socket. One the seal is seated, grab the plastic with a pair of needle nose pliers and carefully pull the plastic sleeve straight out. This little trick will keep you from trashing the seal during the install."
