gear swap
im fixing to do a gear swap in my 97 z mods in sig and i want some opions on the best set up its not my primary car but does see some daily drives im debating between 3.73 or 4.10 its a 3.23 car by the way for now stock stall but a 3500 or 3600 stall is in the near future along with a 6.0 swap so i thought about beefin up the whole rear end and is it worth it or should i get a 12 bolt i've heard one guy around my town claiming a built 10 bolt in the 6.90s on a 408 ls1 then you hear majority of people says its not worth it it will still brake thanks for the help oh by the way ill be running a 275/40/17 m/t radial if that matters

My 97z had 2.73s in it and I went to 3.73s and Yank SS3600 and it was a big improvement. I have about 80 1/4 mi. passes on in the last 2 years & my 10 bolt is still holding up. I would get GM or Motive performance gears, I have Richmonds and they have a fair amount of wine to them.

Gear ratio should depend on how you are going to use the car. If you want the best out of your 1/4 ET's then you want a ratio that will accommodate your powerband in the most efficient way (being as close to your power peak as possible in the traps).
If you are just going to tool around town then get whatever ratio you can tolerate.

Did you just say "Tool Around Town"? HA!!! That's awesome!
If you're gonna have alot of power runnin through there go ahead with a 9".
There's no use in risking killing a 10 bolt with what you're planning.
