pull the oil pan without pulling the engine? if so...what needs to be taken off to do so? its a 97 ss convertible if that makes any difference whatsoever.

pretty sure i at least blew up a bearing since i'm getting metal shaving in my oil but i wanna be able to look inside before i completely pull the engine

Yes it can. Raise the car, disconnect the motor mounts and the starter (just to make room). Jack the front of the engine up, most likely done off the crank balancer. Take all the oil pan bolts out, and pry it down. Then remove from the back of the engine by the oil pump pickup.

This is a generic description, you'll probably have to remove more on a stock car.

Yes you can. I pulled mine. The motor has to be jacked up off the mounts to get the pan out. You might also have to drop the K-Member a bit, the motor does not necessarily need to come out however.

Yes you can. Do you have or have access to a cherry picker?

When I did it, I disconnected the motor mounts and then jacked up the engine a couple inches using a cherry picker and it was overall very easy to do. The K-member is what's in the way so if you find it easier to lift the car up and drop the k-member that could be done as well too.
