Tires and Gearing questions
Hey- First time poster looks like a great site!
Need some help with Tires and Gearing!
First off I own a 1994 Z28 (stock rear end)
I have stock Camaro 16'' Wheels that I would like to keep
Stock tires are 235/55/16
I have 245/50/16 tires right now that are balder than a que ball.
I want to change my gearing from the stock to 3.73 gears
So could anyone refer me to a chart or table that shows how much accelaration I will gain and how much top end ill lose? Thanks

So if I wont lose any top-end should I go with 4.10 gears instead of 3.73? I drive the car in the summer alot but not long trips and just jam around town with it.

As an auto with 4.10's, My gas mileage sucks, but it's hella fun. You can pretty much shred the tires at will, even better with a large stall.
I went from 22 mpg to 15 mpg. If you care about mileage you should go with 3.73's, otherwise go with the 4.10's.

Im not worried about gas mileage as of now. Will the 4.10 be a quicker car? And when you mean shred tires, do you mean its more difficult to hook up? I have brand new Fuzions for summer 2010

I had fuzion summer(street tires) on when I ran the 60' in my sig, I hooked everytime and got better 60's than my buddy with a cammed M6 LS1 with 4.10's. Once you start adding power or a stall you won't be able to hook unless you've got some slicks on, drag radials are pushing it.
Check your build codes. GU2 is 2.73 2 series, GU5 is 3.23 3 series.

That means you have 3.23's stock in a 3 series carrier. That's pretty much it, specify 3 series when ordering.
I ordered for a 2 series and they sent a set for a 3, we spent about an hour trying to figure out why they wouldn't line up.
